1st Grade Round 13 T20 Match Report – TMCC vs KWMCC (11/01/25) at Kurri Central. Sponsored by Godfrey Hirst
TMDCC won the toss and sent KWMCC in on a lively deck due to the week’s wet weather. We started strongly with Ryan Wind bowling economically. Ryan’s pressure bowling and some solid fielding led to a great catch taken by Adam Sidoti which lifted the team. Litto Jacob and Jake Banyard bowled well in tandem restricting runs and taking 3 wickets between them. The pressure created by Jake and Litto was backed by the fielding, with the highlight being a diving one handed catch by Luke Prescott in the outfield. In the later half of the innings, KWMCC got away from us and we were left to regret a couple of errors in the field. KWMCC scored a formidable 170 from their 20 overs, which was boosted by a 4 over period where they scored 50 runs and this ended up being the difference in the game.
TMDCC battled hard in the power play; however, we were up against a solid opening attack and runs were difficult to come by. A few players got starts; however, we couldn’t get any momentum and we found ourselves at 5 for 56 at the half way mark. A huge effort was required from here and unfortunately it proved a bridge too far for our team. In the second half of our batting, we took the game to KWMCC to finish 40 runs short at 8 for 130. There were some very positive signs from the team, highlighted by Lochie’s keeping and the energy in the field. Best for the day were: Ryan Wind 2/22 Litto Jacob 1/23 Jake Banyard 2/28 Sam O’Sullivan 22(19) Michael Eccleston 46(32)
